SOMETHING TO STAND ON

A collection of sermons originally preached to student congregations at the University of Iowa. The fundamental thesis is that many students come to college with antiquated conceptions of religion which are soon exploded in the classroom, leaving them bewildered and apt to discard religion entirely. Dr. Dunnington sets out to prove that many inherited beliefs need to be supplanted by new ideas not in conflict with modern thought. He reexamines our beliefs in phases of the Bible, Creation, sin, the Virgin birth, and restates them in a form acceptable to modern students. A book that will be useful to liberal clergymen dealing with young people-and to students themselves. It fills a real need.
