KIRKUS REVIEW

One need not be a football fan to be absorbed by this biography of the all time football great--Knute Rockne. A man of exceeding intelligence, will, charm, and breadth, Knute Rockne struggled, not only for the athletic preeminence he won as the Notre Dame coach, but earlier for the education with which he distinguished himself as an excellent teacher of chemistry. Here are the games he played, the teams he coached, here is the man and the athlete, lovingly recorded by a man who, as an undergraduate, fell under the Rockne spell. A must for fans and readers who enjoy vigorous human interest material.
