The fourth and last volume of this Encyclopedia is again a collection of feature articles on a variety of subjects, more specialized than in the preceding volumes, and dealing with collectors' items of somewhat limited interest. Chinoiserie is becoming increasingly popular, after a lapse of time, so may capture a special market. But German faience in the 17th and 18th centuries, Scottish silver, the art of trompe L'oeil, European ivories, pictre dure, treen, brass chandeliers, trade cards and bill heads and so on and so on would suggest that here will be found the source of valuable reference material not available elsewhere.
