KIRKUS REVIEW

A candelabra which belonged to Ludwig of Bavaria, a bedspread of llama and ermine, gilt Louis XV furniture, bejeweled tuxes and leather hot pants, the pianoshaped swimming pool, his fourteen dogs, the Rudolph Valentino bed, his mother and brother George, and especially, all those wonderful people out there who love him. Walter Rudolph Liberace adores the fake, ""as long as it looks real I'I1 go for it,"" and this collection of his gold-lamÉ memories and effusive well wishes is aimed directly at the heart strings that vibrate in tune to his piano strings. An aging monument to the ersatz, he may not play it but he sure does believe it--wrap your troubles in dreams and dream your troubles away. With 48 opulent color photos of all the pageantry. And you thought David Bowie was far out.
