KIRKUS REVIEW

How Ellen, brought up in the sheltered home of a maiden aunt, finds assurance for herself when exposed to a more social world as, at 18, she is invited to the wedding of a cousin in Texas. Escorted there by Stephen Hale, fiance of another cousin, Kim, Stephen's approval of her gives her the poise she needs and in spite of Kim's more obvious attractions, she wins Stephen's love, returns east to become his wife. For singlehearted, almost simpleminded, tastes in rentals- this is indeed ingenuous.
