THE DEFENCE OF BRITAIN

Inevitably, there is a certain sense of ""dating"" in a book written before September 1939 and dealing with the possibility of Britain becoming involved in a war. But, with that liability accepted, the Liddell Hart survey of Britain's preparedness, on sea, land and air, of the reorganization during the past years, of her forces, professional and territorial, of the proposals towards revision of the general staff, all provide the reader with virtually an up-to-date-minute background on the forces with which Britain is now operating. He gives, briefly, the set-up in France, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland.
