Selections from this anthology are bound to be turning up at high school athletic banquets all over the country. It ranges from antiquity (Pindar) to the present (Phyllis McGinley) and from the deeply felt (Houseman) to the bemusing/amusing (Nash). Naturally, there is ""Casey at the Bat,"" most imaginatively, there are pieces from Whitman's ""Leaves of Grass."" No sport seems to have been without its singer or rhymester. Excellent browsing.
