TO FUTURE

These poems, which have appeared in more than a dozen avant-garde magazines, are highly acclaimed by Robert Hillyer and Louis Untermeyer to whom they are dedicated. Hillyer says-""Although Lillian Everts is a modern metaphysical poet, her style is not obscure. Her symbols... as the material itself, the chaos of a world without direction, as she presents it in almost terrifying simplicity"". Her themes are time and terror; her style is finely wrought; but there is a neurotic tone of despair which darkens the poet's vision so that while it is a skillful group of poems, it is not a heartening one.
