ARTISTS OF THE DANCE

This is a biographical dictionary of the dance. The author divides the field of the ballet into the main schools, and, selecting the leading proponents of each school, she gives a sketch of the life, training and contribution to the dance of each artist. It is very up-to-the-minute, with a goodly proportion of space given to the moderns. There are rather glaring omissions, and the title indicates a wider inclusion than is the fact. A book for general reference and for specific vocational reading.
