A toothy predator longs to embrace his inner bunny.
Not all dreams are practical, but don’t tell that to William. More than anything, he wants to become an Easter bunny, but it’s an unlikely goal. After all, William is a wolf, with sharp teeth, claws, and questionable hygiene. When Betty, the Big Boss of the bunnies, tells him he’ll never make the grade, he’s initially devastated. After a while, however, he comes back willing to do all the jobs no one else wants to. Betty’s impressed by his dedication and at long last allows him to start his Easter Bunny classes. Don’t expect some sardonic, nihilistic twist to Bailey’s sweet, egg-laden tale. In fact, it’s William’s size and strength that lend him abilities the bunnies need (and earn him a Best Bunny award…twice!). While it’s a pity William must bust through Betty’s stereotypes and preconceptions to acquire his heart’s desire, she plays fair when it counts and recognizes the best in this furry Easter fan. Best of all are Scott’s pink- and purple-infused illustrations, filled with adorable details and starring a hero with exceedingly expressive eyes.
This tale of triumph is a true Easter treat.
