KIRKUS REVIEW

Sarah Pryce's Victorian upbringing (with Mummy in London) has ill-prepared her for the heavy atmospherics of her grandfather Meredith's mansion in the desolate Welsh mountains. But she has the staunch (albeit illegit) blood of her forebears in her veins and so manages to cope with the usual three suitors (one rustic clod, one thin-blooded rich-man, and sexy Thaddeus Flynn) as well as various attempts on her life. She even sorts out the branches in a very tangled family tree. For speedreaders only.
