A readable account of a journalist's assignments, travel, experiences the world over, Japan, China, South Seas, Mexico, Russia, Ethiopia; of interviews, wars, revolutions in line of duty and otherwise. A trouble center often; using his Naval Academy knowledge to build a dam and clean a machine gun; brief experience in Seligman's brokerage office; winning a lottery and jaunting around; jailed and imprisoned in a concentration camp; flying with the first round-the-world Army fliers; non-stop cross-country automobile trip; 28 days around the world by boat, train and plane. Good reading with interesting commentaries on international affairs and good yarns. Not as meaty as the Duranty, nor as highly personalized as Farson and Sheean, but definitely for that market.
