Fathead Terwilliger is nothing like his sobriquet-- he's an obstreperously imaginative fifth grader whose remote control window opening device has some shattering results in Miss Flutterbutt's classroom. (The nomenclature will indicate that this is not the quietest humor in the world.) To pay for his debts (the broken windows) he engages on a crashbang program; a miracle booster for all machinery which makes maniacs of lawnmowers, cars, planes; a speedy weed killer; and other brilliant conceptions which have disastrous consequences before he does become a hero by capturing four convicts. Small boy-sterous humor and lots of stunt showmanship, easy to visualize, easy to read.
