CHALLENGER; Mickey Thompson's Own Story of His Life of Speed

Mickey Thompson, King of the Hot Rods presents his life on wheels. He writes a kind of gee-whiz and hot-dog prose that is in contrast to Stirling Moss' more penetrating and philosophical approach in his recent All But My Life. However, Thompson's life matches that of Moss thrill for thrill and often communicates a sense of heroic performance at top speed. Thompson builds all his own cars using production line motors. Backyard mechanics and racing fans will find the construction details absorbing.
