KIRKUS REVIEW

An Austrian version of the familiar story about a lost mitten that becomes a home for an accumulation of animals. There's a colloquial-sounding, uncredited translation as text--but it's accompanied by attractive, precisely rendered illustrations: a reiterated woodland scene provides a setting for both the mitten's drama and the day's changing light as a snowstorm reaches its climax and recedes. A nice alternative edition.
