This latest story in Lois Lenski's series (for which she gathers material by going to live with the people themselves) is an understanding portrait of Felix Fong, a Chinese boy who has recently come to San Francisco with his family from Alameda. Discouraged at first by the lack of friends and his homesickness for the country, Felix busies himself with a newspaper route. Gradually, as new acquaintances are made, Felix adjusts well enough to his new life to weather the emotional storm caused by an accident he gets into, and to call San Francisco his real home. Besides Felix's own doings there are those of his younger sister, of his mother who works in a blue Jeans factory and his father who works in a restaurant.
