Lois Lenski has written and illustrated three of these factual books telling small children how an automobile is run, how a boat is sailed and how a plane is flown. Apparently there is interest in them, and demand for them. Personally, I find them contradictory, -- with their semi-humorous drawings, slight story content, and serious factual explanations. However, they are in line with the child's interests in mechanical objects.
