KIRKUS REVIEW

A clever idea, which doesn't go far enough. With puzzles of increasing difficulty, the author seeks to lead the young music pupil on to greater familiarity with the notes of the scale. Letters are omitted; notes of the staff (first one section, then another, first treble, then bass) are substituted, so that, to read the story, the notes must be identified. Definitely a book to be used by advice of a teacher.
