When William comes to stay with his five all girl cousins at Cinnamon Hill for a summer, it seems like forever to them although before long he quite settles in, explores, tinkers, and puts together a machine which he claims can answer questions. Even if it doesn't between the machine and William's native ingenuity they find a piece of paper which goes back to the pre-Revolutionary origins of Cinnamon Hill, its disposition, and the prerogatives of the first family next door....Tina, who is eleven, and one of the siblings who tells this story, manages to disguise the fact that there isn't too much there with an everready effervescence. Thus it's programmed for this age group even if they know all the answers -- it's perky and friendly.
