The New York City subway system is the setting for a broad comedy of wearying errors, beginning when Sidney and his mother set out to meet Uncle Harry, who's taking Sidney to Yankee Stadium, and Aunt Jewel, who'll accompany Sidney's mother to the bargain basement. But Harry and Jewel get on an express train by mistake, and there's much passing and waving and scrambling and yo-yoing up and down town (""It's the bottom of the fourth,"" then ""the top of the eighth"") before they're all disgorged on 161st Street and Sidney and his uncle get on line for the second game of the doubleheader. It's a likely background for frenzy and Myers' aggressive style suits the scene -- which is to say that it's as pushy and strident as a rush hour ride on the IRT.
