KIRKUS REVIEW

This is scaled for the high school crowd though many of the poems should serve younger members of the family for reading aloud. Largely narrative and dramatic poems chosen with an eye to corralling teen-agers who tend to be self-conscious about verse because it's ""elsey"". Along with such reputable old chestnuts as The Skeleton in Armor and The Charge of the Light Brigade the editor has included poems by such modern poets as Walter de la Mare, Alfred Noyes, and Edward Arlington Robinson, as well as a section of Folk Tales of Our Own Times.
