KIRKUS REVIEW

Further reminiscences, anecdotes about diamonds and other gems, by the author of The Pearl Trader Gem Trader, in which he shuttles back and forth in episodes of his apprenticeship in the jewelry business, to present day incidents of refugees and their dealings in precious stones. It is a glamoring of the stones themselves, these stories in which they figure and the people affected by them, and there are diamonds, pearls, emeralds, jade, rubles, agates, beryls, and lots of others among the topbilling. Adventures in Europe, the East, the United States, some comic, some near tragedy -- and all entertaining.
