A HUSBAND FOR MAMA

No great literature this, but occasional hilarity in a refreshing mosaic of small-town life and lives. Mama Gaines and her family have known chronic poverty and two of her children decide that the solution is a steady, sobersided and affluent husband for her. Their campaign has every unattached male thinking romantically about Mrs. Gaines, and is offset by the youngest, Lucile's, counterplot to marry off Halcyon, the older girl. The complications grow and the difficulties are ironed out with a proper happy ending. Perhaps overdone in the With Father field but gay.
