KIRKUS REVIEW

By going to extremes, this whimsy offers some good advice-though perhaps it could have been more profitably presented fifty years ago than today. Elizabeth, is a fancy horse who wears high heals to enhance femininity and she is ridden sidesaddle by prissy Miss Crumpet. On a rainy day they meet with mud and must be towed in by Col. Blodgett and his horse- who tell them to discard the shoes and wear pants- which they do- respectively. Prim pictures by the author have a prancy balance. Firm stitching.
