EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW TO HAVE GREAT-LOOKING HAIR

Louis Gignac is the Louis Guy D responsible for those college-girl makeovers in Glamour--the frumpy-to-fashionable transformations. Here he dispenses advice easily on the usual hair care topics (scalp condition, face shape, hair texture), takes a stand against wet cutting, and includes a few homemade rinses. There's little on the relevance of diet and exercise, more on choosing shampoos, conditioners, and driers; in fact, Gignac provides lists of appropriate brands for each kind of hair. It's not as stylish as Suga's Beautiful Hair (1980), as smooth as Zizmor's Super-hair (1977), nor as informative as Feinberg's All About Hair (1978), but it has the affability that many readers prefer, and a clean, easy-to-scan format.
