KIRKUS REVIEW

The author of We Took To The Woods surveys her small and friendly world and shows how it enlarges in the paralysis of joy and anguish and in the deviltry of youthfulness as she investigates the days ""when I was a child"". It is a childhood of proper upbringing, of painful knowledge, of wonderful explorations. And it is viewed without self pity in a recall to please and delight new readers as well as Mrs. Rich's already large audience.
