KIRKUS REVIEW

A glowing, Christmasy picture story book about Santa, chimneys and the animals of the forest -- with marvelous Duvoisin two-color pictures. Although Santa was warned by Mrs. Santa Claus to have his delicious smack his rounds, Santa found the sandwich smells too much for him, and after eating his meal, fell asleep when his sleigh was still full of presents. The fox was first to discover the catastrophe, and organized the other animals to distribute the presents to ""their respective chimneys"". No one wanted to disturb Santa, who finally awakens to see all his work nicely done. The pictures of the sharp-nosed, bright-eyed animals of the woods are exquisite.
