Very dull -- and an amateurish approach to recounting of Indian tales handed down to the author by a grandmother who had been a mission teacher. Question and answer in story form --recollection of experiences as a missionary, of visits to an Indian village, of learning to ride an Indian pony, of life among the Otoe village Indians, of being lost on a trail and viewing the religious ceremony of the Corn Dance. Lacks the essential spark which keeps folk material alive. Authentic but uninteresting.
