Montague Free's book has long been a Bible to all gardeners. This book, it seems to me, should be even more valuable, for it is more complete, not in the items covered but in the method of coverage. It is not a primer -- no beginner gardener will find it presents the ABC's for easy consumption; but for any even slightly experienced gardener, almost every conceivable subject is clarified, presented with the latest proved data, and made practical and readily accessible.
