The story of a curly-headed society girl from Chicago who determines to be a doctor against the judgment of family and friends. She serves an apprenticeship in the Ozarks before going to New York, and loses her heart to an artist. In a determination to put her profession first, she leaves for New York -- but love wins out and she and her artist live happily ever after. There's an original turn to the plot in the artist's attitude to woman doctors, and the doctor's attitude to the femininity of an artist's career for a man. For light fiction, it rates well.
