SEA OF GRASS

A young Seminole Indian paddles through the Florida swamps, in search of a place to catch black bass. Exotic birds and swamp creatures cross his way, as he watches with sharp eyes. The pastel illustrations which have a primitive quality are executed in neat, almost ruled lines; young perfectionists may find them satisfying. The artist has captured the otherworldly atmosphere, although the pictures lack movement and vitality.
