Success story in a field rarely tackled for teen age girls -- teaching in a small town school. The emphasis is on story rather than vocation -- and for that market has its place. One could wish that the characterization and the development of the situation had been more convincing. Gall Warren has been brought up by an aunt whose own position in the educational field was open sesame to Guil, if she had not stubbornly insisted in traveling on her own merits. She turns down a city post and goes to a small town. This is the story of that job, -- of her efforts to reform the town fathers, to inaugurate courses in home making, art and music, to secure for the school shop work and a sports program. There is plenty of small town incident -- a dramatic rescue in which Gail plays the part of -- and a successful outcome of her dreams and efforts, plus a happy ending to her romance. Pleasant tale which might have been more searching.
