BETTER HORSEMANSHIP

By

Publisher: Scribner

This has a specifically designated role, as a book directed to those who run schools and classes in horsemanship, rather than the general riding public. The author, a well-known British horseman, instructor, competitor in international events, here discusses the importance of understanding how your horse thinks, clothes, tack, hunting field etiquette, show ring procedure, the running of riding schools, etc. Most important, probably, are the do's and dont's for horsemen, and the sections on showing and judging horses and horsemanship. To some slight extent the book bears an English stamp which may limit its use to those who teach English methods. The mention of coupons in regard to clothes rations is a negligible factor, but dates it slightly.
