TREASURE!

Some of the world's many, still lost treasures are speculated on in these suspenseful accounts of shipwrecks and jungle expeditions. Stories of buried and sunken caches include the fate of the Merida, sent from Mexico loaded with the crown jewels of Emperor Maximilian and sunk off Virginia; the earlier wreck of the Central America, with its cargo of Gold Rush gold, off Cape Hattrae; and the dire curse of an emerald Buddha, somewhere in the jungles of Siam, whose determined guardian will let no white man live long after seeing it. These and other tales present lures for modern salvors- and would-be treasure hunters.
