KIRKUS REVIEW

I question an American market for this leg of an English destroyer -- the Sky -- which reflects in the language of her crew (and there's some pretty rummy Cockney here) life aboard her. Random conversations and incidents -- the firing of a fish, patrols by night and day, attack by part of the Italian fleet, convoying from Malta, shore leaves, transport duty, and finally the sinking and the break-up of the united ship's company. There is incontrovertible slackening of interest in war experiences, unless exceptional. The added barrier of the very British lingo of the sea and the sense of repeat of material makes it unlikely it will override that hurdle.
