LEE CALLING

The story of an American guerilla of 19 who -- with the fall of the Philippines -- aped by boat to Minao, hid out in back country, who forced -- by death of his comrades -- to town. He spent five months with a native family, then joined the native guerilla and odd soldiers li himself. He was sent to Leyte to run a watcher , and sp over two years there with supplies and few contacts. Verve and vivity in the telling of informer incidents and repri, killings, native friendships, the thrill of American land. Not literature but good reading -- as interest-compelling .
