EAST COAST CORVETTE

Good successor to H.M.S. Corvette, with perhaps somewhat broader base of interest. These are further incidental annotations on life aboard a corvette. With his promotion, Monsarrat was transferred to another ship on the East Coast Patrol -- ""Hitler's front doorstep"" with ""E boats for tea, mines in your soup"". His duties as a Lieutenant, the jobs to be done, routine escort duty, fogs, bombings, night patrol, rescue and salvage, night shoots, life in harbor, conversations in the wardroom, what sailors say about the war, and about the peace. Easy style, restrained; market similar to first.
