JEWELS AND GEMS

This is very well done. The historical importance of jewels in world history, anecdotes about famous stones, adventures connected with their discovery, famous thefts, it all sums up as good reading along somewhat untravelled lines. Then as each jewel or precious stone or gem is taken up, there is a good deal of data about remote parts of the world, legend, history, biography. Question -- how wide an interest is there among junior readers? Primarily a reference book for schools and libraries.
