KIRKUS REVIEW

Although this is the Catholic Religious Book Club selection for December, it comes definitely under the novel class. The setting is Florence and the time shortly after the Black Plauge. A young girl is saved from sordid surroundings, reared in a convent, and marries the English youth she has loved since a child. Or a definitely religious trend. A good book for young girls and for old ladies who want romance without sex.
