EIGHTY DOLLARS TO STAMFORD

You'll like Dave Marks, school teacher-taxi driver and his mother-in-law and his two youngsters-- Dave lost his wife Fran in an unsolved hit-and-run accident two years ago. And you'll like elderly Mr. Kahn who helps him figure out why a too pretty girl pays him eighty dollars on three round trips from New York to Stamford, to an empty house, which seems very crowded later with the body of an elderly playboy whom he recognizes as the man behind the wheel the night that Fran died and he seems to have been the perfect patsy. Don't argue with the story--it's once again dialed direct at the susceptibilities of all those ladies who won't even hear the phone ring.
