MAISY GOES TO THE LOCAL BOOKSTORE

The upbeat little mouse treads familiar ground in the search for literary gold.

While libraries remain the most popular places for series characters to go to pick up books, Maisy eschews convention. Her trip introduces young readers to the delights of a local bookstore (the images of askew books on the shelves and arty cafe treats suggest that this particular shop is an independent rather than a typical big-box outlet). On the hunt for a new book, Maisy tries a variety of different subjects before the storekeeper suggests one on birds. While there, Maisy and her friends attend storytime and enjoy cafe munchies. Finally, Maisy goes to her friend Tallulah’s house and presents her with the new book as a gift.
