For the girl who would get to the room at the top of the hunt and pecking order-- this is, for the most part, a reasonable review of what you should know whether you are on the way in or back to work. The coverage is basic, broad, and guessable: the initial career choice after a long look at yourself; applications and interviews; acquiring PCQ (Professional Competence Quotient) (the right way to take letters, messages, etc.); knowing, accepting and if possible liking your boss; health and grooming (a hat lends prestige to the head which should not wear too bouffant a hair style) and conduct (""forego luncheon libations""); listening and speaking well; and becoming ""INDISPENSABLE."" There are self-testing questionnaires, bibliography and an introduction by the vice-president of Katherine Gibbs. All acceptable, but not indispensable if you have other books of this sort at hand.
