GUESS WHAT'S IN THE GRASS

Publisher: Young Scott

A gay, imaginative story of a child asleep in the grass, the object of investigation by a mouse, a bird, a mother rabbit, a squirrel, an over-inquisitive mosquito. Beautiful and papers and a gay cover will help put this over as good merchandise, but critical adults will find the scale of drawing confusing (blades of grass emphatically large around and above both boy and mouse- use of brilliant red even for the boy's face will annoy children above four). Illustrations in three colors by Edward Glannon- good format- large type- paper over board binding.
