AN ISLAND FOR TWO

A parlously perishable little story (Pesek won a German Children's Book Prize in 1971 for his sf safari) about Peter who has lifted 48,000 Swiss francs justified by his disaffection from the world and disillusionment with justice. And Judith who is at first forced to join him--she's a runaway--then chooses to do so after they fall in love and share a fantasy of that island for two. The burning of a barn and her pneumonia put an end to this foreshortened little book mis-destined for an adult market where it will disappear like a tear on a grain of sand.
