The ball is in Ian Firth's court (he made earlier appearances on the Abelard-Schuman list) when Don Stristor, a tennis star, is murdered after a pre-Wimbledon row with another contender. However, Stristor proves to be fast on his eet in other ways-he's a courier for a narcotics traffic, and the subsequent investigation veers from good clean sport to the British underworld where flick knives flash.... Just like in tennis, speed is more than half the game in an adequate action story with a hard finish.
