A British private detective, Ian Firth, reluctantly responds to the appeal of attractive Marian Ventner and is given a week to find her kidnapped daughter, Carol, 8. The search takes him to Hamburg and the Riviera, leads to the murder of a potential informer, ties in with two other similar cases and exposes some dangerous political affiliations and implications. Very intricate intrigue- well handled.
