KIRKUS REVIEW

Discussion in rather topsy turvy form, half essay, half whatever comes into your head on the Jewish question. The motif throughout is ""Be Jewish"". Lewisohn is a fervent Zionist, he does not believe in assimilation. The answer to Jewish persecution can only be solved in the formation of a distinct Jewish nation. He covers various phases, religion, psychology, economics, historical background, literary background. He attacks violently all who believe in the possibility of the assimilation of the Jew in the country where he is living. Limited, controversial, often deliberately fact-twisting.
