A HAMSTER'S JOURNEY

The slight but engagingly offcourse migration of Wheeler an overworked hamster, forced to run his wheel all day in the drug store window until an accident smashes the glass and sets him free--to wheel down the street, attracting other hamsters from all over the city. Once assembled, their rolling wheels cause a traffic jam on the overpasses and underpasses. The wheels, conveniently owl-proof, continue until night finds their occupants sleeping in a corn field and morning has them feasting on wheat. They fan out after that, with Wheeler and others settling down in ""snug little holes"" in the countryside--a far cry from the harshly cartooned city, and as good a place as any to stop.
