KIRKUS REVIEW

A scrubby little piece about hard working, happy Mr. Mole who's disturbed when steam shovels and such begin digging up his pasture for apartment buildings but who, in one short sentence, wanders days and nights and finds a nice new meadow. But he'd have to go a lot farther to measure up to Ryder's Simon Underground (p. 254, J-80), to whom the deep-down unquestionably still belongs.
