ROUND FISH, FLAT FISH

A drab-looking, routinely written description of four animals--halibut, ladybug, hermit crab, and salamander--that undergo metamorphosis, or ""changes in stages over a short time."" Little is gained, however, by clumping together these diverse examples, and the descriptions of each are not as clear and distinct as they might be. It should be known that all flounder, not just the halibut, go though the flattening process described here; it would also help to know where (or what creature) the hermit crab's seashell home comes from; author and artist seem to disagree on the coloration of the ladybug larva; and, overall, it's an unenergetic performance.
